Die Farben: rot, blau, grün, gelb (colours)

Recognising colours is easy; the real task is giving them the right ending in a sentence: ein rotes Auto but der rote Wagen. Practise the words first, then the endings. All exercise content is in German.

German Colours Exercise (A1)

Colours are one of the first word groups at A1, but mistakes usually happen in the ending, not in the word itself: ein rotes Auto, eine blaue Jacke, der rote Wagen. This exercise first matches the colour words with examples, then practises the adjective endings in sentences.

As adjectives, colour words are written with a small letter; as nouns they take a capital (das Blau des Himmels). The feedback in the exercise shows sentence by sentence why the form you chose does not fit.
