Textsorten erkennen: Nachricht, Kommentar, Reportage (identifying text types)
Every text type has its own language markers: Konjunktiv I is the signature of the news report, the rhetorical question that of the comment piece, the scene description that of the reportage. Practise identifying the type by its markers. All exercise content is in German.
Recognise: match each text type with the feature that gives it away. These features are your evidence for the text type.
Matched: 0 / 10German Text Types Exercise (C2)
In C2 reading, identifying a text's type and purpose is a task of its own. This exercise practises seven text types together with their language markers: Nachricht, Kommentar, Reportage, Glosse, Leserbrief, Sachtext and Interview. Markers such as Konjunktiv I, the rhetorical question or a scene description give the type away directly.
In the exam you are expected to answer a text-type question with two pieces of evidence: name the type and point to markers in the text. The explanations in the exercise build exactly this second half; each answer states which marker determines the type.
