Partizip I & II als Adjektiv (das lesende / gelesene)
Partizip I (Infinitiv + -d: lesend) expresses something active or ongoing; Partizip II (gelesen) something passive or completed. Before a noun it is declined like an adjective: das lesende Kind (the child who is reading), das gelesene Buch (the book that has been read). You will work out the correct form yourself in the exercise. All exercise content is in German.
Recognise: match each participle used as an adjective with the relative clause that spells out its meaning. I = process, II = result, zu + I = necessity.
