Literarische Texte: Stilmittel und Analyse (literary analysis)
Metapher or Vergleich? Which tense is an analysis written in? Practise recognising stylistic devices and naming their function. All exercise content is in German.
Recognise: match each stylistic device with its example sentence. Each example fits only one term.
Matched: 0 / 10Analysing German Literary Texts Exercise (C2)
In a literary text, what is told is not the same as what is meant. This exercise first introduces the stylistic devices (Metapher, Vergleich, Personifikation, Symbol, Ellipse, Ironie) and then practises the rules of analysis: Präsens, a summary without interpretation, short quotations and line references.
In exams, most marks are lost when a stylistic device is named but its function is not described. The explanations in the exercise give the function for every item as well, so it becomes a habit to write what the device does instead of stopping at »Hier ist eine Metapher«.
