The exercise itself is in German; the explanation pages it links to are in Turkish.

B1.2 · Konditional

Konditionalsätze: wenn (reale Bedingung) (real conditional clauses)

A real conditional clause is formed with wenn, and the verb goes to the end of the subordinate clause: Wenn es regnet, bleibe ich zu Hause. If the subordinate clause comes first, the main clause starts with the verb (Wenn …, bleibe ich …). You will work out the correct structure yourself in the exercise. All exercise content is in German.

Recognise: match the condition (wenn/falls) with the right consequence. The consequence clause starts with the verb.

B1 Conditional Clauses (Konditionalsätze): Exercises with "wenn"

Conditional clauses (Konditionalsätze) say which condition an event depends on. At B1 the type you will meet most often is the real condition: it is formed with "wenn" and expresses situations that can actually happen. The most important point is word order: because "wenn" is a subordinating conjunction, the conjugated verb goes to the end of the clause. In "Wenn ich Zeit habe, gehe ich ins Kino", "habe" has moved to the end. When the subordinate clause comes first, the main clause starts with the conjugated verb: "gehe ich". You can also reverse the order: "Ich gehe ins Kino, wenn ich Zeit habe." One more example: "Wenn das Wetter schön ist, machen wir einen Ausflug." Putting the verb and the comma in the right place is where most mistakes happen on this topic.

📌
Golden rule: In a wenn clause the verb goes to the VERY END; the main clause can start with "dann": "Wenn es regnet, (dann) bleibe ich zu Hause."

The interactive exercise on this page gives feedback with an explanation after every answer: when you put the verb in the wrong place, you see why it is wrong and what the correct order should be. This way you reinforce the rule by trying rather than memorising, and you get used to putting the verb at the end of a "wenn" clause. It is useful for anyone preparing for the Goethe-Zertifikat B1 or telc B1, since conditional clauses have to be formed correctly in both the writing and the speaking sections. You can work at your own pace and repeat the patterns where you make mistakes.
