German Article Exercises: der, die, das

Every noun carries a masculine (der), feminine (die) or neuter (das) article. This gender usually follows no logic; it is memorised together with the noun.

📌
Golden rule: Do not guess the article, learn it; the most reliable clues are hidden in the suffix: -ung, -heit, -keit → die, -chen → das.

This page drills common nouns again and again until the right article becomes a reflex. Solid knowledge of articles is the foundation of every part of the Goethe and telc exams from A1 onwards.
