About Temporal-Meister

To say when something happens (Wann?), German uses am for days, dates and most parts of the day (but in der Nacht), im for months and seasons and um for clock times. Prepositions such as seit, vor, nach, bis, ab and in express duration and order, and während, gegen and zwischen add more detail. In each round you see a German sentence with a gap and its English translation, and you choose the missing preposition from four options. After every answer a short note explains the rule.

Choose A1 (am / im / um), A2 (seit / vor / nach / bis / ab / in and the night exception), B1 (während / gegen / zwischen, bei, über) or a mixed round. A round has up to 10 questions, and you have 3 lives. The game is free, needs no account and keeps your progress in your browser.
