About Pronomen-Duell

German personal pronouns change with the case: mich or mir, dich or dir, ihn or ihm. Which one you need depends on the verb or the preposition: Ich liebe dich (Akkusativ), but Ich helfe dir (Dativ). In each question you see a German sentence with a gap and its English translation, and you choose the right pronoun from four options. After every answer a badge shows the case, with a short note on why.

A1 practices the Akkusativ, A2 the Dativ (verbs such as helfen and gefallen, prepositions such as mit and zu), and B1 mixes constructions: verbs with prepositions (warten auf, sprechen mit), stolz auf, bei, and verbs such as schenken or zeigen. There is also a mixed level. A round has up to 10 questions, and you have 3 lives. The game is free, needs no account and keeps your progress in your browser.
