About Partizip-Meister

German verbs can be used as adjectives in front of a noun. Partizip I (usually infinitive + d) describes something active that happens at the same time: das lachende Kind, the child who is laughing. Partizip II describes something passive or completed: das gekochte Ei, the egg that has been cooked. Both take normal adjective endings. In each question you see a German sentence with a gap and its English translation, and you choose the correct form from four options. After every answer, a short note shows the correct form.

Choose B1 (Partizip II, plus one ordinary adjective for comparison), B2 (Partizip I and the difference between I and II) or C1 (irregular forms and extended participles such as das von meiner Mutter gekochte Essen). A round has up to 10 questions, and you have 3 lives. The game is free, needs no account and keeps your progress in your browser.
