German weak masculine nouns follow the n-Deklination: they take -n or -en in every case except the Nominativ singular: der Student, but den Studenten, dem Studenten, des Studenten. They take no -s in the Genitiv. A few mixed nouns, such as Name and Gedanke, take -ns in the Genitiv (des Namens); the neuter noun Herz also belongs here (des Herzens). In each question you see a German sentence with a gap, the dictionary form of the noun and an English translation, and you choose the correct form from four options. Some questions are in the Nominativ on purpose, where no ending is needed. After every answer, a short note explains the rule.
Choose A2 (Akkusativ and Dativ), B1 (Genitiv and common nouns) or B2 (the mixed group, the plural and Herr). A round has up to 10 questions, and you have 3 lives. The game is free, needs no account and keeps your progress in your browser.
