About Hör-Blitz

Hör-Blitz trains your ear for spoken German. Your browser’s speech synthesis reads a German word aloud, and you choose the word you heard from four written options. You can replay it as often as you like with the 🔊 button or, before you answer, with the space bar. After each answer you see the word with its English meaning. If your browser has no speech output, the word is shown as text instead.

Choose A1, A2 or B1. Each level has nouns with their article, verbs and adjectives; A1 also includes a few adverbs. A round has up to 10 words, and you have 3 lives; faster correct answers score more points. The game is free, needs no account and keeps your progress in your browser.
