Most German adjectives in front of a noun take an ending. It depends on the word before the adjective (or the lack of one) and on the case, gender and number of the noun. After a definite article (der, die, das) you use the weak declension (schwach), after ein, kein or a possessive such as mein the mixed declension (gemischt), and with no article at all the strong declension (stark). In each question you see a German sentence with a missing ending and its English translation, and you choose the right ending from four options drawn from ‑e, ‑en, ‑er, ‑es and ‑em. After every answer a badge shows the declension type, with a short note on the rule.
A2 practices the weak declension, B1 the mixed declension and B2 the strong declension. An all-levels mode combines all three declension types. A round has up to 10 questions, and you have 3 lives. The game is free, needs no account and keeps your progress in your browser.
